Even if this was worth doing it would be impossible to calculate an amount due, because countries like Pakistan are using more fossil fuels now to power economic growth.

So where would the money go? Towards more economic growth and more fossil fuels so more carbon.

If money needs to move then it should be a carbon tax that everybody, including Pakistan pays!

I would argue that it is better to spend any money available on becoming net zero, and preventing further loss of rain forest etc. because that is a massive, massive next to impossible task.
