Book Review: 15 Million Degrees, by Lucie Green

I have read popular science books and know about how scientists can work out what things are made of by studying the light that comes from them, and how this is directly related to the elements that things are made of.

This book goes so much further than that. At first glance I am amazed that there is so much to write about the subject, that is understandable to the layman.

Did you know that the plasma in the suns “atmosphere” is at 1 million degrees? Far hotter than the inside of the sun. The book explains why.

I like books about physics and this is certainly a different, interesting take on it.

This book is very well written, very readable and like other books on this blog, is one of my favourite books.
